If you google Consumer-Centric this you get this;
Customer centric is a way of doing business with your customer in a way that provides a positive customer experience before and after the sale in order to drive repeat business, customer loyalty and profits. And a customer-centric company is more than a company that offers good service.
When building products we often focus on a feature that we think our users will like to use, that will benefit them, thats the norm, but not necessarily for the consumer.
So why does it matter?
Being Consumer-Centric is to understanding what the user is trying to do, “the consumer challenge”. By understanding the problem, and using technology to help solve this challenge, offering improvements in flow, performance, convenience for the consumers gain.
Investing in consumer-centric design, will make it easier for what your customer is trying to do. For the customer to get from A to B without challenges will give them a positive experience with your brand/product, and is far more likely to encourage them to be a brand advocate.
Positive brand association is why we drink Coke, why we shop at a specific stores, or why we instinctively go to amazon over another supplier.
